Chaozhou Roots × San Francisco Spirit
Where Mist Meets Mountains
From the clouds of Phoenix Mountain to the fog of San Francisco — our tea carries a story in every cup.
Our Story
From Phoenix Mountain to San Francisco
Jaktea is a San Francisco–based tea brand rooted in Chaozhou, China, dedicated to single-origin Phoenix Mountain DanCong oolong.
We bring traditional Chinese tea craftsmanship into modern life through mindful brewing, cultural storytelling, and high-elevation leaf.
Jaktea began with Jack — a Chaozhou-born immigrant who grew up in San Francisco, between the smells of his family’s tea and the rhythm of the city. His family has tended tea gardens high on Phoenix Mountain for generations, where old DanCong trees grow in rocky soil and mist.
What Is Phoenix Mountain Dancong Tea?
Phoenix Mountain (Fenghuang Shan), located in Chaozhou, Guangdong, is one of China’s most respected oolong tea regions.
Dancong oolong from this area is known for its naturally occurring floral and fruity aromas, mineral-rich rocky soil, and the concept of shan yun — often translated as “mountain resonance,” a defining characteristic of high-mountain DanCong tea.
The Name
“Jaktea” comes from the Chaozhou phrase “jak-deh” (吃茶), a common greeting meaning “to drink tea” — an invitation to pause, share, and connect.
What We Bring
Rooted in Chaozhou and reimagined in San Francisco, Jaktea reflects a bicultural journey — where traditional tea rituals meet a modern, mindful rhythm of life.
Every leaf carries a piece of our heritage — brewed slow, lived deep.
